Any Occasion Mermaid Shaker Card
Oh my goodness guys, I am so excited!
I made my second shaker card and I am beyond impressed with this one.
The last time my hubby and I went to Michael's, we were just supposed to get a few supplies that I needed. Well, my husband tends to get just as excited as I am when we go in there. Since he is so supportive of my craft, he tends to go a little over board. So now I have more fun stuff to play with and experiment with.
And with those things, I created this wonderfully magical card!
I made a beautiful watery ocean style background on some watercolor paper using my ink & shimmer sprays. Stamped out some sea-life in opposite corners & added some PearlEx to them. In the bottom right corner I stenciled on some seaweed (I think thats what it is) with some green Luxe paint.
After cutting out the window for my shaker piece, I went ahead and adhered my die-cut Hello sentiment.
For the shaker image I used a beautiful mermaid rising up out of the ocean. Used my blue Luxe paint & stencil to give her some sparkling waves. Once she was all colored in, I added some mixed sequins & microbeads then topped it with the plastic circle.
I decided to add some matching waves to the inside of the card. To completely finish everything off, using distress inks I added a sentiment & more sea-life from the same set I used throughout the card.
For this card I used:
- Ranger Dylusions alcohol ink sprays.
- Heidi Swapp color shine spray.
- Momenta Luxe paint in teal & green.
- Artists Loft watercolor paper.
- JilliBean Soup large plastic shaker pieces.
- PearlEx powder.
- Recollections enchanted mermaid stamp & stencil set.
- Kuretake Zig Real Brush pens.
- Recollections sequins and microbeads.
- Recollections card stock in blue, white and gold glitter.
- Recollections Moroccan Embossing folder & Dies set.
- Tim Holtz Distress mini ink cubes #1.
- ATG-Gun & adhesive.
- Tombow mono multi glue.
- Scotch Foam mounting double sided tape.
