Valentine's Card Series | Card 1
Helloooooooo everybody!! I hope you're all having an AMAZING day! So I finally got my lazy butt up and made a new card! Technically its the second card of this year but I never finished the first card I started (the current bane of my existence). I'm not going to lie. It has been a slow start for me this year. With all the rain and the house being a disaster from the holidays, I just didn't have the motivation. Or the creative juice to work with. I decided that starting off with a Valentine's theme would help to kick start my creativity and give me a boost to get back in the saddle. Lets take a look shall we?
The last time I was at Target I found this really cute Valentines and Christmas paper pads from their dollar section. They were super cute and I had to get them. Anyhow, for this card I used some basic red Recollections card stock for the base. I used the red foiled heart paper from the Valentine pack for the background of my card. Using my Maya Road sentiments stamp set, I stamped and then heat embossed my sentiment onto this really pretty banner die cut I got from a friend. She also gave me the little heart locket and key in matching paper that I used as embellishment. You can't really see it in these photos but I rubbed on some red pearl powder on the heart and key to give it a shimmery look. Then I added some light twine to the end of the key to add a little more flair. A little love quote sticker here. A little sequins & rhinestones there and its all done!
I personally prefer for the interior of the card to have a sentiment or image of some kind. So naturally I decorated the inside as well. I used some Recollections white card stock. Stamped out this pretty heart frame stamp from a set of frame stamps I recently acquired. Added a sentiment to the center as well as the x's & o's to the bottom. To jazz it up even more (because sometimes I don't know how to stop) I hole punched some glitter and foiled hearts from the Christmas paper pack I mentioned above and glued them inside. Then I finished it all off with the same red pearl powder rubbed around the edges of the card stock.
Sooooo... I still haven't gotten the hang of photographing my cards. Even with the new Lightbox that hubby got me. Not yet at least. Practice makes perfect. Although, with the use of the Lightbox, these photos are way better than my older ones!

And thats it folks! I hope you all enjoyed this card. I'm pretty excited to get back to work and make some more cards.
